宝应县是苏中地区物资转运要邑，水陆交通十分便利。境内形成了以京沪高速公路为主干，苏216省道、盐金国防公路为骨架的"二纵一横"公路网络。周围有上海、南京、常州、盐城、徐州、连云港机场，距盐城机场仅为80公里。境内县乡公路全部实现黑色化。京杭大运河宝应段为二级航道，可通航2000吨级顶推驳船，内河航道便捷发达。
Bao ying County is an important material transfer place in the middle Jiangsu Area, and the terraqueous transport of Bao ying is very convenient. The highway transportation network has formed within the boundary of the county with the Beijing-Shanghai Expressway serving as the artery way and the 216 Provencial Highway and the Yanjin Highway serving as the backbone. In the vicinity, there are airports of Shanghai, Nanjing, Changzhou, Yancheng, Xuzhou, Lianyungang and so on. The distance to Yancheng Airport is only 80km. The Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal Baoying Section is the II-Class route, which is navigable for the barges of 2000-T class.
