宝应，自然资源丰富。全县耕地面积79.25万亩，水域面积约488.05平方公里，滩地面积约26.4万亩，以种植优质荷藕、耐水林木、发展特种水产品为佳。水产养殖面积40万亩，年水产总量10万吨以上，甲鱼、河蟹等特种水产品产量占20%以上，常年种植荷藕20万亩，荷藕产量及品质均居全国首位，被国家命名为“中国荷藕之乡”、“全国生态示范县”、“全国平原绿化先进县”。
全县野生药用植物305种，总蕴量3560吨。境内栖息着多种野生动物，以野鸭、野鸡、獐鸡为多。
宝应地下矿产资源主要有：泥炭、粘土、铁锰结核和石油天然气等。
本县境内大部分地区钻孔内部钻遇比较完整的第三系地层，是含油气的远景层区。

The nature resources in Baoying are abundant. The whole county has the tilled land of 792,500mu (unit of area equals to 0.0667 hectares), the water area of about 488.05 square kilometers, and the beaches area of 264,000 mu, being mainly devoted to the plantation of fine-quality lotus and water-resisting trees. The area devoted to breeding of aquatic products totals 400,000 mu with an annual total output of aquatic products being 100,000 T, of which the special aquatic products dominated by turtles and crabs amounting to 20% of the total volume. The area for the cultivation of lotus is 200,000 mu; and the lotus production ranks the first place in terms of quality and output in the whole country, so Baoying obtain the reputation of “Rural area of Lotus Flowers and Roots in China”, “National Ecological Demonstration Areas”and “Advanced County in the National Wide Plain virescence”.
There are more than 305 kinds of wild officinal plant, and the total quantity of which is 3560T. Various wild life inhabits in Baoying, and many of them are widgeons and pheasants.
From the drill holes, it is found that most area of the county belongs to Tertiary system stratum of integrity, which is the perspective stratum of containing combination gas. |
